Digital Tattoo
My Digital Tattoo
For this assignment I googled myself and went to many other websites to find out information about myself. However, I had not much luck. Either a site wanted you to pay for more information or there was none. This is not shocking to me, as I googled myself a few years ago and found out there really wasn't anything on me but, there was on another Kelsey Peters. It's funny to find out that my name is being used by a television show. The main character has my name in the show. So, when you google my name Hillary Duff shows up everywhere, because she is the actress that plays the role.

From what it looks like it is a show called Younger and she has my name. I think this is funny because why my name, how did they come up with that? Anyway, like I said, that made it difficult to find information on myself. I went to several other pages on google and could not find anything. I even went to pictures, nothing. I will say that I try to keep a low profile online and most of my personal sites like Facebook are pretty buttoned up. So where to go from here?
Searching myself
This led me to other sites that were suggested. I visited: Spokeo, Nuwber, Truthfinder, Mylife, Familytreenow, Fastpeoplesearch, and Peekyou. Again, a lot of these sites had basic information and if you wanted more you needed to purchase it and when you click on view report several of these sites go back to Truthfinder. Out of all these search sites I found the most information with Fastpeoplesearch.

With Fastpeoplesearch, I found out all the address that I lived at, except for one. I found all phone numbers I had, except for one and there a few I have never seen before. I found out my relatives, which most I knew. It was a really quick and easy search for all that information. Another site Peekyou, had a picture with a little bit of information. The picture is very old, from when I was in my third year of college.

Peekyou also found a few old Twitter accounts I may have open still. I know back then Twitter had just come out and I tried it for a bit. I got frustrated with the amount of words you could write, wasn't enough for me at the time. Two other tries I had were googling my name and putting file type at the end to see if my name comes up in any documents. Unfortunately nothing came up. The other try I had was intext with my name to see if my name was in any text. Again nothing.

Conclusion
Through all this research I have come up with I am very difficult to be found, unless, you pay for a service. Even if I paid for a service I am not sure if much more would come up. Possibly past tickets I had, more family members and all my addresses. In doing this I am unsure if this is a good discovery or bad discovery that I cannot find a lot on myself. I think it is good because that's how I like it and means I have nothing to hide, I guess. Could be bad because I don't have a digital footprint and some companies may look for that if I were to search for a new job. Either way this was very cool to look into and I would recommend it for anyone.
